Shinka no Mi is definitely a low budget show and the art and animation aspect is pretty much average at best.

Character design kind of looks okay in some scenes, kind of looks dated in some scenes and some scenes just look sloppily done. I somewhat like Saria simple dress design with a flower in her hair, if only she isn’t a gorilla and now my feelings are conflicting. The rest of the characters look very generic.

Background arts are also average. At least they add some cardboard stand NPC in some cities scenes and the bar at least feel like a bar with its background decoration but background detail, in general, is pretty much the bare minimum.

The worse part of the anime is the animation department. It is stiff and the movements are kept to a minimum. The special effect animations are not as good as looks dated too. Combat choreography is none existence. A lot of close up cameras and camera tricks are used to make combat work.

The characters are mostly one-dimensional and forgettable including Seiichi, the protagonist. The more distance supporting characters that are not always around Seiichi is even worse off with them being used as comedy gag characters and nothing more.

Seiichi is your copy-paste Isekai/fantasy protagonist but between the copy-paste, the quality dropped. Apart from him becoming OP at light speed, he doesn’t have much of a character, yes, he is kind and he can somewhat handle girls and that is about it.

Saria is the pink gorilla who turns into a girl. I somewhat like her character designs but in terms of personality, there isn’t much to look at. She is extremely kind and has super strength. That about it. The only scene about her that is burned in my memories and also burned by eyes is when Seiichi kissed her gorilla form.

Artoria is the second girl in Seiichi’s harem. She has some minor development around her with her curse which makes her and people around her encounter some extreme unlucky events. Despite some minor development, I can’t help feel like she is an unnecessary character and her arc add nothing to the plot and world-building.

Saria and Artoria are the two characters that have the most screentime around Seiichi. Other characters are Lulune the donkey who turns into a girl, Louise the Valkyrie warrior and Oliga a slave cat girl assassin.

Louise and Oliga play some role in the kingdom politic and some very minor value to the plot. Lulune didn’t really add much either. At least Seiichi didn’t kiss her donkey form.

Shinka no Mi- Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei

Both the opening and ending songs are very generic j-pop sounding songs. The ending song is a bit better than the opening song but both are not as good. I say the ending RPG game animation is better than the song.

Background music and sound effect are also very generic. I don’t notice any music that stands out nor does it have any impact. 

In other Isekai anime, there are background music that is relaxing or something that you can enjoy right at the moment but are not memorable. This anime doesn’t have any of those too. At least the background music doesn’t seem out of place with the scene they are on. 

Voice acting sound decent. I feel like even an inexperienced Japanese voice actor/actress these days, can do an okay job and it kind of take quite a bit to mess up the voice aspect. Saria, Artoria, Lulune and Louise have voices suitable for their character design and personality. Seiichi sounds a bit younger than what he looks like.

I love my trash Isekai but Shinka no Mi is like the very bottom of all the trash tier Isekai. At least I didn’t have to drag my feet to finish the anime and I somehow end up watching it all. Kind of like it is so bad that it is good but I won't recommend you to waste your time on this anime.

Seiichi, our protagonist is a fat guy who was bullied by the whole classroom. When the whole class was about to get teleported to this fantasy world, he was left behind. The being who did the teleportation took notice and teleport him to a random forest. Seiichi was also given the ability to eat the fruit of evolution which make him handsome and overpowered.

The unique part is that most of his girls are animals who were transformed into humans with the fruit of evolution. The first girl Seiichi met with was a pink gorilla named Saria who Seiichi fell in love with before she turn into her human form. Well, that is new but also cringey. These girls can also transform back into animal form so occasionally you will see them in their original forms.

Now let talk about the pacing and the plot. Oh wait, there is no plot. Seiichi kind of just spend his time wandering in the forest and then the first city doing some random stuff and building his harem. If this is a game, I would say Seiichi is doing side quests. 

Other students from Seiichi class who got teleported to the Magic Academy was occasionally shown. It is clear something is going on in the fantasy world but nothing solid really happen. 

Seiichi didn’t even meet them the whole season until near the end where it is clear his path and his classmates' path are going to cross in the future but then the season ended. I won’t be surprised if this anime isn’t going to get a season 2.

Worldbuilding isn’t any better either, the whole 12 episodes and I still don’t know much about the fantasy world. The short clips at the end, explaining what power and stats Seiichi gain every episode is kind of unnecessary too, no one is going to keep track of it. Not when he is become OP with warp speed.

Comedy is hit or miss but there is some funny part like when Seiichi created slave freeing magic and President Lincoln came out chanting “free free free”.
