Slice Of Life

The art and animation is pretty much the bare minimum. The major characters art are pretty decent with vibrant colours and have a kind of shiny and glossy look to them. Rit is probably the best-drawn character followed by Ruti and Ares. I find Red design to be a bit too simple.

The background arts also have the same kind of vibrant colours much like the characters. However, the detail is severally lacking to the point that it felt unnaturally empty in a lot of scenes, both indoor and outdoor.

Animation in the slow life aspect of the story is decent but as soon as the combat scenes start, the animation becomes a glorified sideshow with background effects combined with close camera angle of the characters to cover up the lack of choreography.

The character developments are decent for all the major characters while side characters are one dimensional. The show was fast to make me like Red and Rit and totally succeed in making me hate Ares with my gut. I was pretty reserved about Ruti but they did a good job at making her likeable in the end.

Both Red and Rit have a good amount of back story and development. These two hit off right from the get-go despite them coming from two different backgrounds. There is no beating around the bushes and the anime naturally pair the two up into a wholesome couple.

While Red keep moving forward with the story, Rit development kind of ended when their relationship hit its peak. However, I like her personality, both her serious and lovey-dovey side. She also makes for a good fan service character with her certain pair of...ahem, assets.

Ruti also has some development going into her. She was like a robot at first but slowly become human as the story went on especially after reuniting with Red. We also learn a bit more about the blessing from Ruti situations.

The author did a great job at making the audience hate Ares. He excels at getting on my nerve and the change from jealously to psychotic is quite well done.

Apart from these characters mentioned above, a lot of other side characters are plot devices that have little development. Other party members from Ruti’s party could use more development which would make the ending episodes more impactful.

The opening song is chill and suitable for the slow life and romance aspect of the story between Red and Rit. The ending song also has a lovely tone to it but a little bit more generic sounding.

The background music is pretty average and generic. Nothing really stands out or is memorable. They are mostly used to complement the scenes and honestly, some of the background music doesn’t make much impact on the scenes.

Voice acting is solid and suitable for the character and their personality. Rit switching between serious mode and lovey-dovey mode is done perfectly. The voice for the psychopathic Ares is also nicely done.

Banished from the Hero's Party, much like the title, the story follows the protagonist Red who was kicked out of the Hero Ruti’s (who also happen to be his sister) Party by Ares out of jealously. After being banished from the hero’s party, Red decided to live in a quiet village and open an apothecary. 

After a few days of Red running his apothecary alone, Rit who Red happen to fight alongside before found him and Rit decided to stay with Red and help him and the romance between the two bloomed.

Much like the genre tags above, this anime is a little bit of everything but it doesn’t really excel in the action and drama department. I stayed mostly for the romance.

I am glad the story didn’t forget about the Hero Ruti party and show both Red and Ruti side with Red doing quite fine and happy while Ruti party went in a slow decline. Their path crosses again in the late episodes with Ares getting what he deserved, that moment is simply sweet.

Love the sweet sweet wholesome romance between Red and Rit. The romance between them just kicks in, unlike other romance anime which would spend the whole season to lead to a confession.

Worldbuilding quality is average. There are still questions in my head about their fantasy world mostly on Hero Ruti party and demons. The explanation about the blessings is pretty cool. Blessing can sometimes be a curse in disguise. Blessing governs a person life path and how said person behave. E.g. if someone got a thief blessing, that person will have urges to steal something.

The pacing feels fast and crammed. The anime could use a couple of more episodes. There are parts where the story could use more time and explanation. e.g. The conflict that happens due to the blessing around halfway into the story is interesting but could use a deeper and clearer explanation. There are also characters especially on Ruti side who need more development to make the audience care for them especially for what is going to happen near the end.
